1. Outside width – Face board is cut to this measurement. Padding and fabric will add approximately ½” to 1” to this measurement.

2. Total drop – Provide the longest measurement (see FAQ below). Upcharge applies for total drops of more than 20”.

3. Shortest drop (certain styles, optional). If you would like to specify your shortest drop, we will adjust shape of cornice to fit your requirements. This will affect overall appearance of cornice.

4. Return width - Depth of the cornice; our standard is 6".

MEASUREMENT FAQ

How tall should the cornice be?
For cornices mounted at the ceiling, drop of cornice should be approximately 1/5 of ceiling height.

For cornices mounted just above the window, drop of cornice should be approximately 1/6 the length of coordinating drapery.

What is the recommended clearance for a drapery rod? For cornices covering drapery rods, we recommend at least a 2½” clearance on the sides of the rod, and in between the rod and the back of the cornice.

Can my cornice be an inside mount? All Upholstered Cornices are assumed to be Outside Mount. If your cornice is to be mounted on the inside of the window, please contact Customer Service.
